Q: How long has RCA been in operation?
A: RCA opened for classes in the fall of 2001; however, there were many who spent years thinking, dreaming and praying for a Christian school to come to Fayetteville.
Q: What is the tuition for RCA?
A:
P.S. & Jr. K: $3,090 annually (full day)
P.S. & Jr. K: $2,266 annually (half day)
K – 5th: $3,090 annually
6th – 8th: $3,605 annually
9th – 12th: $3,914 annually
A 3% discount on tuition is given to families who pay their tuition in full or by the semester.
A $295 registration fee also applies and is due with the application for K-12; the registrion fee for pre-school and pre-kindergarten is $100 and is due with the application. The fee covers such expenses as books, some supplies, and other costs.
A Spiritual Health and Wellness Fee also applies for each student. The fee is $100 and can be paid in full or in monthly installments.
Q: Will there be tuition price breaks if I enroll more than one child?
A: Yes: 1st Child (oldest): 100% tuition, 2nd Child: 75% tuition, 3rd Child: 65% tuition
Note: Multi-child discount does not apply to Pre-school and Junior K students
Q: What is the tuition payment schedule?
A: RCA understands that private education is a financial sacrifice for parents. Tuition payments can be made yearly, by the semester, or monthly through electronic funds transfer, check, or through parent's RenWeb account.
Q: Is RCA an accredited school?
A: RCA is actually dual accredited. The school is fully accredited through the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), which accredits public and private schools. The school is also accredited through the National Christian School Association (NCSA).
Q: I know that RCA is a ministry of the Riverside Church of Christ. Does my child have to attend a church of Christ congregation to be admitted?
A: No. RCA has a non-denominational admission policy. Students and/or their parents should agree to the following six Foundational Beliefs: that God is the Creator, and we are created in the image of God; that all people sin; that God sent His only begotten Son, Jesus the Christ, as an atonement for sin; that Jesus died on the cross, was buried and arose from the grave; that redemption is in Christ Jesus and only Him; that the Bible is God’s Word to man, is without error, and is the only true scripture.
Q: When will construction on the school’s new 70,000 sq. ft. building be complete?
A: Classes moved from the temporary campus to the partially completed facility on January 6, 2003. In keeping with previous plans, the building will be finished by the Summer of 2010.
Q: Does RCA still need donations over and above tuition?
A: Yes, fundraising efforts are on going. Funds are needed to complete or enhance our facility or other school programs. The donor may earmark any donations for specific
purposes. Scholarship funds are continually needed to supplement tuition for families who have a serious financial need.
Q: Does RCA have a policy regarding school uniforms?
A: Yes. The RCA uniform policy has proven very effective in reducing peer pressure to wear expensive, “faddish” clothing, and helps eliminate unacceptable or questionable material on tee shirts. Please contact the RCA office regarding details of the uniform policy.
Q: What curriculum does RCA use?
A: RCA uses a variety of nationally recognized curriculum, which is carefully selected to meet the academic needs of its students. Although some math and language arts curriculum are the same as that used in many local public schools, all science and history curriculum is Christian-based. No material teaches anything contrary to the truth of scripture.
Q: Does RCA administer standardized tests to track student progress?
A: Yes. RCA administers the Stanford Achievement Tests (SATs) and the Otis Lennon Skills Ability Test (OLSAT) to students each spring. RCA students have consistently scored within the top 25 percent nationally.
Q: How many students attend RCA?
A: RCA has enjoyed extensive growth. Beginning with 62 students in 2001, RCA now has more than 385 students and anticipates extensive growth in the future.
Q: Will students have a Bible class?
A: Yes. Every grade has Bible class. All students also attend chapel everyday.
Q: What extra-curricular programs are offered for RCA students?
A: RCA is committed to giving its students a rich and diverse educational experience. Sports offered include basketball, soccer, volleyball, cheerleading, football, baseball, cross country, softball, golf, tennis, wrestling, and trap shooting. RCA also offers other activities such as yearbook staff, computer classes, student council, robotics, band, drama, Keepers at Home, and chorus. Extracurricular
activities are added on a continuing basis.
Q: Are lunches provided, or must students bring their lunches from home?
A: Students are certainly welcome to bring their lunch whenever they wish; however, RCA does serve hot, nutritious lunches to students who wish to purchase them.
Q: When can I register my child for classes at RCA?
A: For kindergarten and above, registration begins each spring during the April time frame. Pre-school has an open enrollment period; however, most new student admissions are taken from an active waiting list.
