The Ocoee Foundation Scholarship fund was established to recognize senior students graduating high school who are pursuing a degree in a healthcare­ related field. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic eligibility, financial need and community service. The award amount for this scholarship is $25,000.00 for a 4 year academic term ($6,250 per year/$3, 125 per semester). All scholarships are renewable for a total of four years based on satisfactory progress towards a degree.

CRITERIA/HOW TO APPLY

• Applicant must be graduating from a high school in Lincoln County  and must have at least a   3.0 cumulative grade point average.
• Complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). This application is available online at www.fafsa.gov. If you are not able to complete the FAFSA due to a lack of a social security number attach a written notice of DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) from the US Citizenship and Immigration Service. On the FAFSA,   Tennessee  residents should list at least one Tennessee college or university in order to be considered for state aid. i.e. TN Student Assistance Award and/or TN Education Lottery Scholarship Program). If awarded this scholarship, you are not required to attend a Tennessee college or University.
• Complete and submit the application along with  ALL  required supplemental materials. A late and/or incomplete application packet will not be considered.
• Contact the colleges/universities to which you are applying to see if they require you to complete additional financial aid forms. The Facility reserves the right to review transcripts of each recipient's grades periodically and to determine the renewal of any scholarship based on such information.

Student applicants must meet the following criteria:

College-bound senior currently attending a Nashville or Middle Tennessee area high school (must be attending a 4-year college or university in the fall of 2026).
Minimum grade point average of 2.5.
Demonstrate the value of education, good work ethic and community outreach
Application will open on Thursday, January 22, 2026 – Monday, March 30, 2026

Winners will be announced in May 2026

The scholarship application we REQUIRE is as follows:

1. Completed application form.
2. In ONE PAGE or less, please state your anticipated career goals and why 
   you chose this field.
3. Two reference forms (attached) OR 2 reference letters:
   1. One RCA Administration/Staff reference.
   2. One outside reference (ex:  Minister, work, etc.).
      PLEASE remember it is your responsibility to follow up with your references and to make sure they are turned in to the office or emailed to the PTO by May 1.
4. This application is due in the Office by May 1.

There will be one $1000 scholarship awarded to an RCA senior; however, the PTO scholarship committee reserves the right to select multiple recipients to receive $500 each.

Investing in the Next Generation of Manufacturing Talent

The SME Education Foundation operates the nation’s largest scholarship program dedicated to advancing manufacturing talent. In 2025 we awarded nearly $1 million to exceptional students across the country. With scholarships ranging from $2,500 to $20,000, students have multiple opportunities to fund their futures.

We make applying easy: submit one application, and students are automatically considered for every scholarship they’re eligible for.

• Applicant must be a female senior in a high school residing in the state of TN.
• GPA must be 2.8 or higher.
• Must have an ACT score of 21 or higher.
• Must be registered to vote, if age appropriate.
• Complete the TFDW scholarship application.
• Must NOT be a member of or related to member(s) of the TFDW Executive Committee.*
• Must submit a letter of recommendation from a community member (i.e. minister, organization officer, employer, etc.) that can attest to applicant's commitment to civic responsibilities (i.e. volunteer and extracurricular activities).
• Must submit a letter of recommendation from high school administration or guidance counselor that can attest to the applicant's good standing in school (i.e. volunteer and extracurricular activities).
• Evidence of provisional acceptance to a post high school accredited institution (i.e. college, university or technical school).
   

Must have a 3.0 or better the first semester of your senior year, as well as 30 hours of completed community service.

Application must be returned with a 2 page essay detailing how your major and intended profession will serve the community.
